In support of Bishop Richard’s Pastoral Plan, the Diocese launched a CCRS course in September 2019, with modules continuing until June 2020.
It is intended that the course will be re-run from September 2020.
For more information, or to express an interest in attending this course or registering for future dates, please contact Jon Harman, Adviser for Formation and Spirituality.
The CCRS has been successfully run in venues across the Diocese for a number of years. It aims to provide an introduction to Catholic theology and an understanding of the central truths of our Faith. It is open to teachers working in Catholic schools, catechists, people involved in pastoral and liturgical work, and other interested adults.
The core modules explore the Scriptures, the Person of Jesus Christ, the Church and its sacramental life and moral understanding.
Specialist modules relate to each participant’s ministry in the Church, covering such areas as Religious Education in schools, Parish Catechesis, Liturgy, Justice and Peace. Other modules of a practical nature may also be available, e.g. for teachers, catechists, youth workers, liturgists , those involved in bereavement ministry; and new modules are being developed.
Full details of the course can be found on the national CCRS site.
